2023 Scholarship Gala

We invited our community to show their support and continued commitment to eliminating health disparities and increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion in our healthcare facilities, hospitals, and partners throughout New Jersey.   

At this year’s Gala we:

  1. Awarded monetary scholarships to high school, college, and medical students in a competitive scholarship contest. 

  2. Honored every graduating underrepresented minority (URM) medical student from each of the New Jersey medical schools and graduating underrepresented minority residents from all postgraduate New Jersey programs.

SPONSORSHIP LEVELS

According to the AAMC about 9 % of physicians in the United States identify as underrepresented minorities (Black, African American, Latino, American Indian or Alaskan Native) despite being more than 40% of the general population in the 2020 US census.  New Jersey Medical Association encourages high school, college and medical school scholars interested in health care thru mentorship and by elevating their ideas about eliminating health disparities.
