The National Medical Association’s Annual Convention and Scientific Assembly

2025 Theme: “Transforming Population Health: The Promise of Health Equity Across Therapeutic Areas to Improve Quality and Span of Life.”

The National Medical Association’s Annual Convention and Scientific Assembly is acclaimed as the nation’s foremost forum on medical science and African American health. Each year, African American physicians and other health professionals from across the country convene to participate in the scholarly exchange of medical advances, discuss health policy priorities, and to share experiences through networking opportunities. Through NMA’s 26 Scientific Specialty Sections, the Convention attracts the broadest spectrum of African American physicians, academicians and scientists in the country.

The NMA National Colloquium on African American Health is scheduled for March 24-27, 2023, in Washington, DC. The Economics of Childbirth Panel Discussion

“The Economics of Childbirth” Expert Panel Discussion

  • April 11 marks the beginning of Black Maternal Health Week. Please join us on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at 7:00 PM, where our expert panel will discuss the economics of childbirth and the influence of socioeconomic status on maternal health amongst women of color, reasons for such impacts, and ways to improve access to quality healthcare during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. We want to empower people to be change agents for themselves, their family members, friends, and communities.

    We are requesting donations of pampers for the Modestly Cover Diaper Bank of Essex County, whose mission is to ensure that families living below the poverty level and low income in Essex county have an adequate supply of diapers for their infants, toddlers, and seniors.
