WE SEE YOU

The NMA promotes the collective interests of physicians and patients of African descent. We carry out this mission by serving as the collective voice of physicians of African descent and a leading force for parity in medicine, elimination of health disparities and promotion of optimal health.

There is strength in numbers

We welcome all physicians, medical students and residents who live and /or work in New Jersey.

We also invite providers, dentists, pharmacists, advanced practice nurses, physical therapists and more who seek to network and further the overarching mission of our organization, reducing health care disparities in communities of color.

We meet monthly to establish priorities amongst membership to mentor, volunteer and network.

WHY NJMA?

If you believe your health, ability to access quality health care should not be based on the color of your skin, your country of origin, your gender, your income, who you love, your primary language or your zip code.

The NMA is an organization that promotes these values with your support!

WHAT CAN I DO?

  • Help us update our online NJ directory.

  • Mentor someone interested in medicine.

  • Let’s promote good health, exercise and healthy eating in our patients.

  • Let’s find out more about clinical trials that might be appropriate for our patients.

  • Tell us what you are doing: local health fairs, mentoring student, medical missions, etc.

  • Consider attending the National Conference:

    NMA National Convention

    August 1-5, 2020

    Atlanta, Georgia

  • Consider inviting and/or sponsoring a resident to be a part of the organization.

  • Consider inviting a colleague to join the next meeting.

There is so much good work going on let’s bring it out of the silo’s!
